On September 23-25, 2024, the REG held a meeting in Georgia with organizations providing health assistance to migrants from the EECA region.
17 NGOs from 11 countries of the EECA region and the EU gathered at the meeting, signed a memorandum and united into the Partnership Migrants Health for the EECA region.
Organizations working with migrants from different countries are consolidating their efforts to ensure uninterrupted access of migrants and refugees from key populations to services related to HIV, tuberculosis and viral hepatitis as they move out and around the region. The goal of creating this Partnership is to develop cross-country links between service organizations that provide help migrants and refugees from Eastern Europe and Central Asia affected by HIV, TB and viral hepatitis.
Nowadays, migrants face many challenges, including language barriers, cultural differences and stigma. They need tailored services to timely receive medical care, psychological support and be integrated. They also need cross-border support when moving from one country to another.
Partnership members are confident that the network will continue developing.
