Regional Expert Group on Migration and Health selected national representatives in nine countries of EECA region

Regional Expert Group on Migration and Health is pleased to inform about the appointment of national representatives in nine countries of the EECA region – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

Tahmina Haydarova, Director, Tajikistan Network of Women living with HIV, Tajikistan

The key tasks of the country representatives include representing the Regional Expert Group on Migration and Health in the EECA region, identifying sensitive issueews in the area of migrant health, and looking for opportunities to foster cross-border cooperation between sending and receiving countries of migration.  

During the meeting held on February 18, 2021, experts – national representatives have identified the key barriers to HIV medical services for migrants from their countries in migration and upon return. Also, experts outlined the areas of cooperation with REG.
