On December 09, 2024 the Regional Expert Group on Migrant Health together with non governmantal organization Real World.Real People held a roundable, named “Migrants’ Health in Armenia: Enhancing Access to HIV Services for Armenian Citizens Living Abroad and Foreign Migrants in Armenia”.
During this meeting, findings from a recent study estimating the number of individuals living with HIV among foreign migrants in Armenia were presented, as well as recommendations to enhance migrants’ access to HIV prevention and treatment services in Armenia were formulated. The publication will appear in the nearest time in REG’s website.
In the second part of the event, access to HIV and TB treatment for Armenian citizens migrating abroad were discussed. A draft protocol on remote registration for treatment was presented, alongside discussions about improving HIV prevention and care for migrants from Armenia.
The round table brought together representatives from the Armenian Ministry of Health, the National Center for Infectious Diseases, the UN Agency for HIV/AIDS, key NGOs providing HIV services.
